On  #851 it was an LED.  Our failed.  We bought one at WMarine for a few
dollars.  There was a problem with the size, I remember we had to pull
something off the failed unit to make it fit t in the hole, Also we had to
reuse the fast on connectors and just twisted the wires to the old one. Not
concerned because its peanut power and can't get hot enough to melt
anything. Get  a pair of fast on connectors or a soldering iron and some
shrink tubing to cover the splice if you want to do it correctly.

Is the A/C light a neon bulb?  Neon bulbs do tend to 'flicker'
occasionally, particularly with age.
