To eliminate one source of a wet bilge - overflowing water tanks - apply
from Home Depot some Hercules Real-Tuff Teflon Paste Thread Sealant.  Presto
- no more leaking.

Good for you. I too have a PSS shaft and my bilge still isn't dry. Between a
leaky water tank (when it's full), opening the knotmeter every once in a
while to clean it (lets in a bit of seawater), and some other msyterious
sources, I've given up on a dry bilge.
