Chris,
Isn't it Brass that degrades pretty quickly in a salt environment but Bronze
and SS will last for years?  I through the old wooden boats were held
together with bronze screws and fixtures that still work well many decades
later.

Brass is not the best of materials in a water system on a boat. Your local
'big box' supply store has them in stainless pretty cheap.

I just ordered the faucet.  I notice that my local hardware store has 3/8 to
1/2 brass adaptors, will they work as well as a new hose?



I also ordered the JABSCO Model 31777-0000  "Smooth Flow? Variable Speed
Drive (VSD) Pump Controller" for about $100.00 from WM special order. It
will be easy to install next to the SHURflo pump.  On WindWalker the pump is
model 2088-723-244.  It has 1/2" male fittings and as part of the Jabsco kit
they provide the appropriate 1/2 inch adaptors.

Variable Speed Drive (VSD) converts everyday pumps into

sensor-controlled pumps that automatically adjust in real

time to changes in pressure. As less flow is required, the

pump motor slows down to provide a smooth and

HOW IT WORKS

The controller automatically measures the pressure at

which the pump's pressure switch opens. It uses this

measurement to determine an optimal running pressure

for the given pump, and stores the value in its memory

for consistency between power cycles.

. Diaphragm pumps with 3, 4 or 5 pumping chambers.

. 12 or 24 VDC.

. 12 amp maximum at 12 Volts.

. 6 amp maximum at 24 Volts.
