Have Raymarine C-80 chartplotter---pricey, but gives you everything but change for a twenty, connects to all Raymarine instruments for readouts. Check it out.

Subject: RE: [C320-list] New Boat - Instruments

Alec, what made you choose Tick Tack instruments for your new FIGMENT III
#1081? I hadn't heard of them but have now had a look at the website.

Our old boat had a vertical pedestal but the new boat has the bent pedestal.
A Raymarine transducer is already installed. For instruments we are
thinking of just having a square instrument housing (a Navpod CP100) with a
Garman GPS 178, Raymarine Wind and Raymarine Depth. That will fill the pod
so we thought the autopilot (Coursemaster) could then can go off to the side
of the boat.

The reason is so I can do away with instruments towards the top of the
pedestal as I find with the tall pedestal, they really block my vision.

I'd thought we might be able to get the Garmin chartplotter to display depth
and therefore do away with the depth sounder but it won't read the Raymarine
transducer. I particularly want a Garmin chartplotter becaue it seems to be
the only one that will give you the ETA at the final destination as opposed
to just the next Waypoint. Any comments from anyone on the list on the set
up before it's too late!
