If, I were buying a new sailboat today I go with the Raymarine hydraulic or 
under deck system.

Two years ago when I did the instrument upgrade the techy guy at  Raymarine 
recommneded that I stick with my original wheel drive system but upgrade to 
the newer brain control and he offered me a factory reconditioned "like new" 
unit with a 1 year warrenty.  Big improvement over the old original brain 
system.
