Kit - I have had both 2 and 4-cycle dingy motors. At the end of the day, my
vote would be for a 4-cycle. On the downside, they are 2-3 times heavier
than a 2-cycle and do not have a self-contained gas tank. On the upside,
they are much cleaner for the environment, you run the engine dry at the end
of each run which keeps the gas from going bad in the carburetor, and there
is no mixing of gas and oil.

Like every other sailor I have time to spend money. This time I am
considering an Avon 310 RIB with a 2cycle 3.5 hp outboard. does anyone have
thoughts on
a better plan?

Note I am on a lake so speed is no issue
