Bryan,
Another important reason for changing the oil at haul out is that the oil
builds up a high acid content as it is used over the summer and you don't
want the bearings exposed to this acid during winter storage. I also don't
change mine in the spring. Thanks.

Bryan, by now you have gotten info on the oil change intervals. I thought I
would also provide you with a tip. Just as Herb Creech mentioned, he
changes the oil before the pull out and after he goes back in.
I change my oil just before I get pulled out for the off season. The reason
for this has to do with sediment. If you let the old oil in during the off
season, sediment may build at the bottom of your oil pan. The issue is
this. In the spring, you may be dropping the old oil without running the
engine for a long time. You then put the new oil in and off you go. The
problem is that the new oil gets hot, it eventually stirs the sediment and
now you could have dirty oil right after your change.
I change my oil just before the haul out. I do not change the oil before
being put back in. The oil that you put in before the haul out does not
break down and is good to go when you launch.
Hope this helps.

What's the recommended oil change interval for the Yanmar?
