My UK sailmaker gave me a great price for a 150% Tape Drive genoa and a
new Dacron main...I added a rope clutch to the starboard side, bought
the clutch and Garhauer gave new longer bolts to hook them all up,

Also, folks might want to contact Wes Giles, he had a good experience on
ordering a cruising spin for his C387 from a loft in Hong Kong

Hey Jeff:

My 155 Genoa cost about $300 more the what UK quoted me for a Tape Drive
sail. I felt it was worth the extra price. I guess I bought at a good
time (December 2003) and North was willing to dicker on the price.

I didn't make any changes on the main sails outhaul. The outhaul on my
vintage boat (1995) is adjusted at the front (bow) side of the boom. It
works fine for my purposes.

Karl,

25% off a North 3DL sail is still 50% more expensive than Doyle or UK, but
I'd sure like one. Like you, I sail on Lake Michigan (out of Waukegan
Harbor) and my sailmaker also suggests a 155% for our light air venue.

I assume that you ran the outhaul for your new main back to the cockpit.
How
did you do that? The rope clutches and the cheek blocks under the traveler
on my boat are already full.

Thanks for the info.

Jeff
