=RJ,  You will be pleased to know that Catalina does not use a balsa core, it is sold fiberglass.   This makes the boat heavy but very solid.  Your stanchion mounting bolts are are probably leaking.

TOO MUCH RAIN 
HERE IN HOUSTON WE HAVE BEEN HAVING A LOT OF RAIN 
MY 2006 CATALINA HAS DEVELOPED A SLOW LEAK  JUNST ABOUT UNDER THE  MICROWAVE 
.. NOT A LOT OF WATER BUT ENOUGH THAT IT WILL FILL UP THE AREA BEHIBND  THE 
STOVE OVER NIGHT . HAS ANYBODY ELSE EXPERIENCED LEAKS .   MY  BIGGEST CONCERN IS 
IF THE WATER IS FINDING ITS WAY IN TO THE CABIN COULD IT BE  FINDING ITS WAY 
INTO THE BALSA CORE .
