Actually, many times we have to lower the swim ladder just to slow us
down to keep from pitch poling.

A folding or feathering prop brings the most value at lower wind speeds.
I just finished 2nd on corrected time in our annual Jack and Gill race.
(husband and wife only typically). Last year, before my Kiwi feathering
was installed, I came in 7th. 

The only boat to beat us was a J35. Winds were steady at 12 knots and
Boomerang was pointing well and definitely going faster than she ever
did with the stock 3 blade fixed prop I had last year.

I have found the feathering prop allows the boat to point higher. While
this is not faster on the knot meter, it sure makes a difference on a
long beat while island cruising... or when going around the buoys.

Not mine nor my students.  I went out to eat with my son and I double
checked there was no milk in one of the products.  Turns out there was a
lot.

I don't think a folding prop is going to get me above hull speed upwind.
Something about the laws of physics.

a folding prop might have gotten you 40 miles in five
hours, 10 miles closer to your goal.  By the way whose
food did you get sick on?
