On mine there is a projection that allows you to select either.  By the way
it is good to clean the screen out from time to time.

Greetings:

The head sink faucet has an aerator screen in its' center, along with a 
circle of shower jets around it.  Is there a way to plug the aerator 
(other than with my finger) that will allow only the shower jets to 
function?
