We have the 12.5K unit on the Chesapeake for the last 5 years and get the
cabin down below 70 degrees in all heat and humidity, including the 100+
days at the Catalina Rendezvous 4 years ago in Solomon's. At temps above
95, we just close off the V-berth and keep the shades closed.

When I bought my boat last July, the 12,000 BTU was installed and had to be
upgraded to the 16,000. The 12,000 simply could not keep up with the heat
and humidity here in Maryland.

I love the unit!! It does an excellent job cooling and heating.

Subject: [C320-list] A/C Sizing

Hi All,
When A/C has been installed, what capacity has been used? (10,000 BTU/
12,000 BTU/ 14,000 BTU/ 16,000BTU)
I have looked at Cruisair and Marine Air. They are both from the same
company ... Is there a preference (or others)?
I looked in the archives (briefly) for earlier posts on this subject. I
found one that put the A/C in the aft lazarette (Starboard). Is there
anywhere else that it can go?
Thanks,
Steve
