I said sailed fast, not motor fast...yes, an Open 60 is a fast way to sail, but they're a bit more expensive than a new 135 AND a folding prop!! :)

Is it?  Then should not we all buy a Catalina 44 footer?  What about a
Catamaran?  What about an Open 60? What about one of those Catalina
Express boats?  That Catalina Jet sure seems to move fast and I bet it's
props don't fold. Everything is a compromise.  In San Francisco Bay I
would rather have a new 135% custom more then a folding prop.
Definitely more speed would be obtained that way for my boat, with me
sailing.

Not a chance.  For the two thousand I would rather have a new 135% jib.
More useful for my sailing.  One thing we forget on this list is that we
all have different types of sailing in different conditions.  One
folding prop doesn't fit all, so to speak.

If I had unlimited funds for the boat, which I don't, I would buy one.
But I prioritize based on my sailing.  I seem to do OK as it is, and
will match anyone on the list for miles sailed (or even motored) in a
year.
