No. Terrible idea.
Your autopilot wasn't designed to be used as a brake. There are
fragile parts inside the wheel as well as a belt. It's cheaper and
easier to repair / replace the Edson brake than it is to repair /
rteplace the autopilot.
If you are really concerned about securing your wheel while you are
gone and don't trust the brake, tie the wheel off to the pedestal guard
using a thin piece of line or a bungie cord.
