Jeff,
I wouldn't give up the flexibility that the separate monofilament
line adjustment that the clothesline gives you for the price of the
line. I've never used the "A" system but it looks like you have to slack
the topping lift itself to give slack to the mono lines for flaking and
covering - or whatever. That means you lose the option of raising the
boom with the topping lift without putting tension on the mono lines at
the same time - ya know when you have a few basketball players over for
lunch and want the boom up and out of the way...... whatever the
reason.... you are losing options and adjustment freedom.

Jeff,
The only problem I see is the mainsail cover when storing as someone
else pointed out. I've also replaced my continuous loop line and it was
a very straightforward job.
It sounds like you're looking for simplicity, not avoiding changing the
line though.....If you do go this route, I would be interested to see if
you are happier with it....
Regards,
Jon Vez
