Why buy pods?

They don't look particularly good and the Poly Planer rectangular waterproof
speakers have brass threads inset in their tops to accept two bolts from
above. Just mount them directly.

If you make a template of the distance between mounting holes and then use
it to drill and countersink tow holes through the rail seats - your done.

Just one trick - I believe the Poly-planer threads are metric fine thread.
Not difficult to find at a good hardware store but don't force the wrong
bolt. Also - use locktite on the threads.

If you get the speakers for a good price - buy two pair and put a set inside
as well. That's what I did ten years ago and It's been great. Ten years of
continuous exposure to the elements and no problems.

Thinking of BOSE? I have a set of BOSE waterproof speakers on a deck off
my house and I was able to compare them directly to the Poly Planer. If
they were the same price I'd go with the Poly Planer - but Poly Planer was
less so it was a no brainier. Plus - the Poly Planer speakers have the two
brass taps on top - I think Bose only has one.

Good luck !

P.s. A multi disc CD changer with wireless remote is the way to go. For the
radio FM antenna can share your VHF masthead antenna. AM antenna - your on
your own.

There are a half a dozen sites that will sell these
for under $190/pr.
