Annie,

My solution to Item #1 was to install a couple of padeyes inside and on the forward (cockpit side) wall of the port cockpit locker with a bungee cord stretched between them. Be carefull, and don't drill thourgh the cockpit locker wall. The hatch boards fit nicely against the locker wall and are held in place by the bungee. My boards fit in the traditional location, I just found it clumsy to keep them there. The cockpit locker solution is much easier.

  1. The washboards on our new #1073 don't fit in the traditional storage
position next to the engine box - at least two of them fit but the third one
doesn't. I'm not sure if the engine box is bigger or if the washboards are
thicker. Where do other people store their boards?

2. I'm planning to install engine sound proofing which should fill the
small visible gap through to the engine on the fridge side. Did anyone else
with a hull number close to mine have a small gap here? The engine box on
our #812 fitted perfectly.

3. Has anyone outside Australia put a new Catalina 32 into a charter
fleet or sailing school in the last couple of years. I'd be interested to
hear about it as we are having problems getting our new C32 approved. She's
now been sitting in the water for two months, as yet unused, while I
continue to use the old boat while wishing I'd never bought a new one. I
love owning one yacht but owning two is not good.
