[C320-list] Head valves-- OK leave open?

We flush with fresh water only - keeps down the odor - so our valve is
always closed except for when we use the saltwater anchor wash down pump
which was T-d into the head line.  We then open to wash down, close again
when finished.

Catalina recommends closing the head seawater intake valve and head
discharge to sea valves when leaving boat.  Some owners say it's OK to just
leave them open, as boat won't flood.  Any comments or experience to
indicate they should be closed?
