Exactly...it takes a bit of experimenting to get just right for each
boat/sail

spilling your wind, so add more vang.

Very little tension, let the boom rise..it's one of those 'each boat might
be a bit different'...you need to experiment a bit..

What your looking for is a bit of twist at the top of the mainsail, I know
conventional wisdom is to have it flat but try it, you'll notice a huge
difference in boat speed.

Interesting tip Orlando...I've always done this out of habit...when you
say
'don't tighten' and loosen a bit, do you mean leave it completely loose,
or
have some tension? I will give this a try--this spring :)
