[C320-list] Lifeline replacement

Bob,
I don't see why not. That said the wire will not be comfortable to grab or lean on due to it's small size. When I went with wire lifelines I went with the largest wire possible.

Can a guy just cut off the plastic that's on them?

  Jeff,
re: "at least in the salt water environment" - I can confirm that it's not any better in the fresh water Great Lakes environment. They look like crap all of the time. When I clean them, they get sticky.

Gerry Douglas indicated in his factory tour (2004) that they're planning on
  going with bare SS lifelines.

I'm actually surprised that the C320 MKII didn't have them.

I really dislike the white lifelines. They look like crap most of the time
because they're so hard to keep from getting gooey and dirty. (at least in
  salt water environment).

  I'd say go for it!

On the list this year is lifeline replacement. My thought was to use bare
stainless wire (not coated), and QuickAttach (SunCor) swageless fittings.
While maybe a bit pricey, at least the connectors can be reused, while the
  wire can be replaced.

Any thoughts or suggestions? If this isn't a great idea, any
recommendations for riggers/services to put together a new set of lifelines?

  thanks for your thoughts!
