Hello Bruce;
We were at the Newport show in September; where they did not have the 320
but they did have the new 30, 35, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44 and I noticed the
difference in the non-skid. immediately.
Example: The 40 had the rough looking skid, where the 42 had the smooth
diamond construction like our current 320. (Which did deliver from CA last
July)
I specifically asked why the difference: The answer was "anything coming out
of the FL plant is now made with the rough, and anything coming out of the
CA plant is with the smooth skid."
I also asked if we ordered the 440 could we get the smooth, even if made in
FL plant, and that answer was NO.
Unfortunately I dislike the rough so much, that it would likely impact my
decision to upgrade to any Catalina that comes from FL.

The galley faucet on the new 320 was made by Moen. We've been thinking
about replacing the faucet, that's why we noticed. I suspect you can
purchase these at Home Depot or Lowe's but am not sure if there are any
issues with hooking them up to the plumbing.
For the folks that spoke with Gerry Douglas at the boat show, did he happen
to mention what was going on with the non-skid portion of the deck? It
looked like someone sprayed gray, non-skid with sand (or maybe larger
granules) onto it. No where near as nice as the diamond pattern on the
older 320's. Maybe done that way because it was a quick build for the show?
Did anyone get a photo of the redesigned stern? I understand the plan to
extend the flat deck under the stern seats but if memory serves me the stern
had a kind of strange shape.
Overall, my wife and I had a feeling similar to seeing the 250 when it first
came out when comparing it to the 25 we had owned for 5+ years.
Any other thoughts?

Yes - I meant to mention the kitchen faucet in my message as well. That
really caught my eye.

It has a nice appearance and all but what caught my eye was the upgraded
kitchen faucet! Joe Barrett
