[C320-list] V Berth Lockers

Jeff - As you know, I have #808. I found that the 6 inches of moisture that
collected in the starboard locker was snow melt as a result of absolutely no
caulk around the forward water tank fill. Since caulking, no more moisture.
You may want to check the fill. - Allan

Hi,

Hull #809 had the hinges on the forward edge from the factory.

I glued in some hardwood blocks so that I could drop a shelf in nearly level
with the bottom edge of the door. This allows any moisture to collect at
the bottom without our "stuff" having to sit in any water that might get in
there. (Especially on the starboard side).

I plan to put another shelf in there at the top of the little door to form a
nice compartment that's accessible from the smaller opening under one side
of the vberth matteress. Can't recall if it's the port or starboard side
that has that little cover board.

Dick,
Hull 671 was the same way and thankfully the PO (Dad) did the same as you
and they are much easier to use now.

While at Catalina is occurred to me the 2 lockers in the V berth had their
hinges toward the stern. WindWalker II may the only boat set up that way,
perhaps it was fitted out on Friday.

So, I took them both off and reversed them. A good change, it is much
better getting into the lockers. The screw holes lined up with them
swapped.

Cheers,
