Ahhh, the useless weight added simply to flatten the boat....another
excellent Catalina idea... :)

Water where it should not be - UPDATE

Thanks to Ernesto and the associated rain, I have discovered that the
source
of my water is from above and not from the water tank or stuffing box
drip.
Went down to check the boat and discovered water in the Storage
Compartment
next to the hanging locker in the aft cabin had standing water in it. I
can
see a trickle of water coming down from somewhere above. I started
searching
for the source but ran into one road block after. Based on what I can see
it
looks like the source could be the mid-ship cleat, holding tank pump-out,
or a
possibility it being the rub-rail where the scupper drains water off of
the
starboard side of the deck. When I first got the boat in 2004 it listed
to
port a couple of degrees, so no water ever collected on the rail on the
starboard side. Last year Catalina added some weight on the starboard side
and now
the boat sits flat. Any hints on gaining access to the starboard side hull
in
the aft-cabin are appreciated.
