I plan to attend the 2007 regatta. I attended last year in Newport but couldn't make a September meeting this year as kids are back in school

My read is this.

The commodore must chair the annual face to face board meeting, present a budget for the next year to the annual meeting and moderate the annual meeting.  This is the only gathering of the membership and if someone cares about the association they need to be present at the annual meeting/ regatta.

Attendance to the Ragatta should not be necessary.  This  is a big country and face to face meeting is not a possibility to staff this  organization.

you want to do it and have some qualifications.......  we want you.
