[C320-list] Kill Filters

I think you are right, Pat. I certainly want both.

I think the longer one is an owner and an active list participant, the more likely they are to appreciate and value both features. That may be partly because they are more likely to have been able to attend at least one of our face-to-face gatherings by then. They know the people. The social side becomes more relevant to them. I know when I was a newbie, the social side was kind of goofy to me. Luckily I got to your regatta in 2002 and that changed.

The irony is that the longer anyone has been an owner, the more likely they are to be a source of information to those looking for answers and tips. I know that this year (my sixth season) and last year, I found myself answering more queries than I asked. Most of us who have been here for a while can retell what we've learned from our predecessors as well as offering a few things we might have thought up on our own.

Beware: If you bleep out the chatty folks with a kill filter, you may well be bleeping out some of the best sources of suggestions and tips present on this list. If you piss them off, they will leave and then where will you be?

Honestly I'm amazed that some people think their time is so all-fired important. The wealthiest, most successful people that I've had the pleasure to meet have ALWAYS had time to chat with me - as if they had all the time in the world. It's those middle-manager types who act so busy and important all the time that they can't be bothered with such trivialities.
