Material
1. Fuel Filters:
a. Engine:
i. Perkins 130366020
ii. Fram P3627
iii. NAPA 3386
b. In Line:
i. Racor R26S
2. Strap Wrench
3. Diesel Fuel
4. Diaper
5. Paper Towels
6. 17 mm open end wrench
7. 19 mm wrench or ratchet
Procedure
1. shut off fuel at tank
2. remove primary filter
3. clean bottom bowl
4. fill filter with fuel
5. don’t over tighten bowl or filter
6. replace
7. turn on fuel at tank
8. check for leaks
9. remove secondary
10. replace
11. open port side nut to allow air to escape (19 mm wrench)
12. manually pump fuel filter
13. if it doesn’t fill (fuel pump may be on high point of cam)
a. turn over engine slightly, go to 12
14. when full tighten nut
15. start engine
16. if it won’t run
a. crack all 3 injectors (17 mm wrench)
b. crank engine with kill handle down until a fine mist of
fuel appears
c. tighten injectors while cranking
d. engine will should start, probably before all 3 are tight
17. Check for leaks, run engine for at least 15 minutes

[C320-list] Perkins fuel filter change
There was some discussion on bleeding the fuel system on a Yanmar diesel.
I'm sure many of you have changed both the primary and secondary fuel
filters on a Perkins, and I'm going to do this process this weekend and
would appreciate the steps in doing this. Any help with this would be
great. Thank you in advance.
