[C320-list] new water pump (was: Another fresh water problem - bad pump?)

One thing to note is that the new pump is quite a bit larger than the old one.
On our boat, the pump is hung under the galley sink right next to the water
heater. The new pump is large enough that I could not use the bottom mounting
points of the old pump and there is not enough work space to make new ones.
However, the pump is wedged in place between the heater and the backboard
such that one mounting point turned out to be enough. It has worked fine all of this
past season.

>From what I've read, the 'drop-in' replacement will be much easier on newer
boats that have the pumps located under the aft berth?

I made the switch two years ago, it is almost a
drop-in changeout and we find it to be a first class
pump and a huge improvement. Count me in the five star
group.
