You should be able to use the fittings from the old pump. No addtional couplings needed.
Make sure you get the right pump. I believe there's also an RV version. You need the marine one.
(bought mine on ebay)

Thanks.    My pump location is the same as yours, so I'll do the  same.  Did 
you need to buy new fittings to adapt the new pump to the  Whale system, or 
could you scavenge the one from the old pump?
