Interesting!  Thanks to you all who answered - so we have a low of 42' and a
high of 47'.  Think I'll go with the 42': the yard charges by the foot!!!

I believe I also measured somewhere in the area of 45-47' end to end when
the mast was down one year.

The Sail Plan drawing of my Owner's Manual shows the leech of the jib as
being 43'7" which is close to the mast length.  If you told the yard it is
45', it would be very close.  Hope that helps. :-)
