With a furling main you can also release the furler making the main have a
big bow.  This works also.

When we upgraded to the line adjustable genoa cars, we moved our original
genoa cars to the upper cabin top track.  We rig our light air preventer
like this:

Tie a Bowline through the center of aft-most main-sheet block, lead it up
around the cabin top genoa car and bring it back to the stern cleat.  We
pull this line quite snug to prevent the boom from moving.

This works great as a light air preventer.  The line we used was essentially
an old genoa sheet.
