Dick,
Some questions from your pictures: did you add a horizontal member for
your stern motor mount? I seems to be only on the port side next to the
stern corner seat.
[Richard A. Walker]
[Richard A. Walker]
No this is a new mount for the 2004 boats and newer. A CYC member
demolished my original mount. It has not bearing on the Davits.
Hi Rollie and the list.
WE are very happy with the Garhauer Davits; a great buy for $600.
Our motor mount is on the top rail, but I plan to leave
the motor on the dingy most of the time.
[Richard A. Walker]
I do also; a great feature. You can be off and running in 1 minute and also
have a ready to go life raft.
Do you attach the starboard davit line to your 4hp motor for lifting? The
picture seems to so indicate.
[Richard A. Walker]
I leave the 4 hp engine on. It depends what slip I am at on which direction
to orientate the dingy. For long trips I do swing the engine up.
Our hull #182 has a straight stern railing and no swim platform seats -- do
you think the davit feet install ok for an older hull than yours and Jeff
Hare's?
[Richard A. Walker]
Rollie you can mount the feet at 90 degrees on the transom. I would do that
or ask Mark to make the ss pipe about 12" longer, or what ever the seat
height is. That would be better than the 90 degree mounting. Garhauer is
happy to make these modifications.
Thanks, Rollie
