2007 Regatta Update:
Winter has just arrived - at least for those of us here in the New
England. That means it's time to get serious about the setting up the
2007 Annual Regatta and Meeting. Your association officers have
identified a couple of venues for 2007 regatta. The board's preference
is for November 2-4 in St Petersburg, Florida. Our fallback position
would be to sync up with the Catalina East Coast Rendezvous in Mystic
CT, Aug 10-12. 

As of this morning, the St. Petersburg Yacht Club has the C320
association "penciled in" on their 2007 event calendar. While both
venues have pro's and con's, the real critical factors in determination
of a site are 1. the early identification of a volunteer from our
membership to coordinate the event 2. the number of boats/members that
can commit to attending. 

We need someone to step forward to coordinate the 2007 Annual Regatta
and Meeting. The individual should preferably be from the St
Peterburg/Tampa area or be willing and able to work with 320 members in
the area. The effort really isn't that significant especially at this
early stage, plus there are plenty of members who have setup regattas in
the past that would be more than willing to lend advice etc. Thanks to
Peter Clancy ('AROBAN' C320  #222) who has gotten the ball rolling with
SPYC, we are way ahead of where we were last year at this time. If you
are interested in coordinating the 2007 Annual Regatta and Meeting,
please contact me directly.
