I believe I remember being told by the Dutchman rep. at the Annapolis Boat 
show 2005, that the line is 400lb test monofilament nylon line.  I found a 
300' spool at https://www.fishermansoutfitter.com/default.aspx for $26 incl. 
shipping.  If you live in a area where ocean fishing is popular you should 
be able to find it locally.
