When I purchased replacement line from Dutchman, they sold me the 500# test (2.5mm) not the 400# test (2.0mm). The job took about 50 feet as I recall. I thought at the time, that the replacement line was thicker than what I was removing, but it seems to work just as well.

I believe I remember being told by the Dutchman rep. at the Annapolis Boat show 2005, that the line is 400lb test monofilament nylon line.  I found a 300' spool at https://www.fishermansoutfitter.com/default.aspx for $26 incl. shipping.
