[C320-list] Dead Battery

Thanks to all for the info.  My batteries have not died yet and I have not yet purchased a starting battery, I was just planning for a future event and wanted to be prepared mentally.

  The wiring and inline fuse on that circuit are inadequate to carry the
  load required jump start the engine.

  If your device has a 12v outlet plug to be used to sart a car, it
  sounds as if you have one of one of those toys that uses a small
  battery to try to boost the car's battery just enough to kick over the
  engine. That is not likely to work in this instance.

  If you have one of the more substantial battery packs with alligator
  spring clamps and a plug for recharging the pack, then Pat's advice is
  good. This particularly true if your batteries are defective. If your
  battery bank is simply discharged, but still above 10.5 volts, a
  straight jump should start a normally easy starting diesel.
