Dick,
Did it look like you could just clean out the carbon build up on the old unit and put it back into service?

Subject: [C320-list] Yanmar 3GM-F engine Elbow
HI,
I replaced in May the water mixing elbow on the back of the engine.. The
YANMAR manual suggests replacing it every 6 years. Since WindWalker was
delivered in August 1999, I replaced mine after close to 7.5 years.
It is Yanmar part # 12827013600 and cost $145. A crush washer is also
needed. $5.00
The old elbow was inspected after it was taken off. It really needed to be
changed since it was getting plugged with exhaust black carbon.
It is easiest to remove the entire assembly, take it to a shop with a vice
for disassembly marking the exact angle from the old elbow.
Word to the wise. Change after 6-8 years.
Happy Sailing.
