So I don’t forget I put the 1 starting battery on Battery 1; and the and
parallel batteries on battery 2.  I think that is common practice.

That's what I was afraid of.  I recently paralleled my house batts as 
batt 1, and installed a start batt on batt 2.
Your response tells me there's no way to isolate the banks when it 
comes to the bilge pump draw, without rewiring the bilge pump.
