[C320-list] Battery charger

I defrost mine occasionally with the garden hose. Just run some water over
it, hose off the inside of the fridge at the same time and the ice is gone
in seconds. Pump it out with the shower sump pump, and dry out the inside
with a towel. Takes 10 minutes. If the house fridge and freezer were as
easy to clean I would do it more than once every 3 years... :)

I handle defrosting by shutting the unit off on day sails, and turning it
back on when I leave. Works great, very low tech.

Our fridge stays on 24/7 and on the shore power charger at the dock.
During the even number months, we run off Battery 1 and Battery 2 on the odd
number months. The freezer plate will ice up and need to be defrosted a few
times each year unless you can keep air blowing across the plate. I
installed a computer-cooling fan last winter and so far this year, no ice
build-up except during our week vacation when we had so much stuff in the
fridge that the plate was blocked by foodstuff.

Getting back to the refrig, does it matter if the fridge is left on all
summer to keep drinks and other important things cold? I have never had a
boat with a fridge before so it was never an issue.

Thanks,
