[C320-list] Outboard Motor Selection?

I recently installed these to the dinghy to improve performance;

I had to put these in a vice to close the ring around the prop to get the 1"
clearance recommended by the manufacturer. This made a marginal improvement.

And I installed what are called Smart Tabs by Nauticus. These really made a
big difference.

I have the same boat and 8HP 4 stroke and it planes easier with 2 than one
aboard because of balance. You might be able to get the 6HP to plane but it
would be marginal. Remember you, wife, dog, junk, oars, life preservers and
gas for total weight, but since the wife doesn't wand to get wet the 6
should fly with just you.
