Good morning group.............
I have been reading this list for about two years and figure it's about time
I said something.
There was a recent posting about buying a 320.
My wife and I live on our 320 about 7 - 8 months of the year. S/V Reality
is #232. An older model with the Perkins 30. I bought the boat from a
friend and personally worked on it for three years (general maintance) so
was very familiar with it.
We are very happy with our decision and are now spending our time outfitting
Reality for extended cruising. Is it the perfect boat for cruising?
Probably not, but it's the boat we have and know. Our outfitting includes:
full cockpit enclosure, dingy davits, radar, wind generator, additional
anchors, lots of small stuff in the interior, TV, stereio, Ham Radio, and
probably a lot of stuff I can't remember. It came equiped with Air
Conditioning and a Heart 2000 Inverter/charger. Still to go will be a
solar panel.
None of this is really necessary, but as liveaboards and cruisers we just
wanted it!
My point is that the 320 is a great boat - all boats will require work, but
the 320 is generally easy to work on. Also the value seems to be stable,
probably better that the main competition, Hunter.
If anyone would like more info, please feel free to contact me off list. We
are currently located in Kemah, Tx in Galveston Bay.
Fair winds,
Bruce and Debbie Walters
