[C320-list] Bottom Prep question, East Coast Rendezvous

Just as a follow up--I did contact Catalina (on a side note, they returned my call at 8:30 EST on a Friday night, which was impressive even though they are 3 hours behind).

I was told that as long as the gel coat is not breached the vinylester is fine as it is applied under the outer coat (thus the barrier coat is redundant unless you have gelcoat problems already).

For years I had been reluctant to use anything harsher than green scotch brite pads for fear of doing some damage, but Catalina said 100 grit would be fine if I wanted to put some bite in the gelcoat after dewaxing. Still haven't decided whether to use this company or not...

Regards,

Jon Vez
