I had a good experiment yesterday (Sunday) in sailing. We sailed 37.8
miles in 6 hours 46 minutes with 135 jib and full main. Had a wonderful
gumbo and a bunch of truffles (chocolate) and enjoyed the sunshine and
brandy.

Did not worry about the engine. Didn't write any e-mails on this list
on Sunday.

Subject: Re: [C320-list] Neutral or Reverse

Hello All,

I had an opportunity to experiment
yesterday afternoon in ideal conditions.

Starting with the gearbox in neutral,
placing the gearbox into forward slowed
the boat down; placing the gearbox into
reverse slowed the boat down.

Placing the gearbox into neutral from either
position restored the original boat speed.

Moving the lever from reverse to neutral
was difficult.
