Warren and Patti

I forgot to answer your question at the bottom of your post. But you will
likely have guessed by now what my answer would be. ..... Simply, I don't
keep track of how much it costs but it's not much and worth every penny.

By the way, I love my Perkins and I still take pride in checking the fluid
levels, belt tension, hose clamps, water strainer, batteries and everything
else that needs attention for a good and safe time on the water.

Also, I don't want to challenge Adam on how many days I'm on the boat, but
we go for extended 3 week plus cruises every July, do every holiday weekend,
most 2 day weekends between April and Oct. and I race once a week in our
winter series, November to March.

Further, I'm surrounded by retired guys on L Dock at Pt. Roberts WA and love
to have them come around to offer advice, urrrrr a hand, whenever I'm doing
something on the boat. They have nuthin' but time, and they're very curious
so I let them help. :)

Kirk #124 - Where is the fun in that? What else is a retired guy to do but
gripe about the projects he chooses to do? Your response only proves one
or more of the following:
  1) you are still working, and don't have the time
  2) you have more money than you know what to do with (if so, buy a bigger
boat)
  3) you are lazy and haven't yet figured out how to get the wife-mate to
change the oil
  4) you just had your manicure and didn't want those nice black stains
around you cuticles
  5) you don't spend enough time griping on this list about the boat tasks
you love to do
  6) unlike many of us, you'd rather sail than do maintenance chores
  7) you were a stink potter in a previous life, and don't know engines
Out of curiously, how much does it cost to have your oil and filters
changed?

I call my mechanic every spring and the next time I go to the boat it
has
new oil in the engine and gearbox; new oil and fuel filters too. I don't

know what he uses but there's never any mess. :)
