Brian - I can't answer your direct question.  However, you may want to check
compatibility of Vivid over VC17-M.  If compatible, apply the Vivid over the
VC17-M.  When you see the VC17-M color showing through, you know it is time
to repaint.

I will need to redo my anti foul in the spring. The current coating is 
VC17-M. With some 80 grit sanding I can replace this with Pettit Vivid 
in bright yellow to match my hull trim colour. The most recent  PS 
review of  anit fouling paints gave this a recommended in the waters 
they test.

Has anyone used this product in inland fresh water where ice causes you 
to haul out for the winter?
