[C320-list] Dripless Issues

[Dave Moores]

According to what I read, the dripless stern glands can make a scary noise
and have to be burped.  But that's just what I have read here over the
years, as I don't have one.

What are these 'issues'?

I installed it on cl 2 in 1997 and never had a problem with it-- I sold it
in 2006..

If you replace your packing material with the goretex stuff described in
other threads on this list, you should have a dry bilge. You can replace the
packing material with the boat in the water. There will be some water
entering when you loosen the packing nut, but the bilge pump will be able to
cope with it easily. If you start prepared with the rings pre-cut, the pump
will likely not even turn on...

No need for a dripless solution. As Dave mentioned, these have their own
'issues'...
