[C320-list] FW: Kiwi Prop versus Gori 3 blader

I only have 2 seasons on the Kiwi, but it has performed very well. This
summer I hit a small log which we get many of in this part of the world at
certain times of year. On my next haul-out the Kiwi had a small nick out of
each of the 3 blades. I filed the nicks out in just a few minutes, which is
the recommended procedure. The composite material is easy to work with and
seems to be very tough. The Kiwi dealer will advise on the best size etc, it
depends on your engine and gear box in your new boat. It's very easy to
pitch the Kiwi if it's not exact when you get it.

Support in this area is good from the local Kiwi dealer. To me, good service
depends a lot on the company that sells the product. I never had to test
them on their 30 day money back offer.

Do you know where the Gori is built? Denmark I think, so you just need a
good local dealer for support whether its Gori or Kiwi.

Jerry,

The Feb 2007 issue of Practical Sailor has a good discussion on the Kiwi
prop, including an inspection after 3 years of use.

Might be more factual than your dealer.

Hi GuysWe have just ordered a new 320 MkII to replace our current 320 which
has a standard 2 bladed prop. I recall that there were a number of
proponents of the Kiwi Prop. The dealer will supply and fit a Gori but says
that I will bo on my own if I buy a Kiwi Prop. Specifically he is un happy
with non metallic blades and the fact that support appears to be from NZ.
The design principles of the Kiwi Prop appeal to me (I studied engineering
many years ago) but I would really welcome comments from owners with both
types. For any Kiwi Prop owners, have you had any blade problems? How has
customer service been, and specifically are they good for the 30 day money
back if not satisfied guarentee that they offer on the web site? For both
types what are the right specs.I know this has been debated before but any
and all comments would be appreciated.ThanksJerry Brown# (waiting to be
assigned)
