Suz and Sam-AC problem could be the initial high load imposed on the Honda
2000 needed to start up the AC. Check out Honda's website which says that
for a 10,000 BTU AC 2200 initial watts are required for startup and 1500
watts for continuous operation. Your AC is 12,000 BTU so it might require
more power resulting in a higher reactive load for startup. Honda says the
reactive load could be as high as 3 times the continuous load.

The Honda 2000i is rated for 2000 watts initially and 1600 continuous.
Probably need to rig a way to get the AC working before the water pump kicks
in and hope that neither the Honda generator nor the AC are damaged by the
borderline conditions.

I did a lot of looking at this issue before purhasing a backup generator to
power the sump pump in my basement.
