Defender has the replacement electronic module for older Danfoss compressors. Not cheap at $350.00.

Um, gee, never thought of doing that <g>

Google brings up many sites where I can buy an entire new compressor (and it
may come to that) but no info on the controller itself or where to buy it.

There was a string last year where it was mentioned that the controllers fail
fairly often and someone had found a replacement.

Have you tested the controller to ensure it has failed?

Mine showed signs of failure but it turned out to be a looose ground which
caused a low voltage
situation which will cause the compressor to try to start but fail.

I replaced mine only to find my charger was not working properly
dropping the voltage too low to operate the cold machine. Is VERY
dependent upon at least 12.5 volts to start the compressor.

I have a Nova Kool trouble shooting guide (they use the same controller)
and a Danfoss manual I can send you off list if required.

I am asking this question for a friend who is not on the list. They just
bought the boat and are wading through years of backed-up maintenance.

For the more mature boats, what kind of hot water heater did they come with
- make and model number? Did they only heat through the engine? If they
heated through shore power, where is the on/off switch (theirs is not on the
instrument panel)? The boat I am asking on behalf of is hull #184. Thank
you!

 DOYLE QUICKSILVER II CRUISING GENOA
The Best Performance Cruising Sail Keeps Getting Better

The QuickSilver II Made From Woven High Performance Sail Fabric without
Lamination!
Here's the Story
While much of the focus on sail material development has been on high tech
laminates for grand prix racing boats, there has been a quiet revolution
going on in woven materials. Resulting in an entire new range of fibers, and
a new woven sail material producing, LIGHTER, STRONGER, Sails.

Doyle's QuickSilver II made from Woven Warp oriented Polyester addresses
the
problems performance cruising sailors have had to live with, LAMINATION =
low durability, high replacement expense, mildew problems, loss of sail
shape, etc.. Most Kevlar / Mylar / Spectra sails become obsolete from loss
of shape due to shrinkage, crinkling, and delamination of the Mylar.

Doyle's QuickSilver II offers the low stretch of laminates with the
durability of Dacron wovens. Finally, this is a performance fabric, that is
not a copy of fabrics designed for race boats, but conceived specifically
for high performance sailing where durability is valued. Additionally,
because it is a woven fabric without any glue, mildew is not a problem
