You have NO sense of humor, at all. By the way, very interesting feathering
prop systems on those destroyers.

I believe most power boats are full keel....

I don't know about for sure about cruisers, but I just spent a week on a US
Navy destroyer in Japan and there was a sister ship in dry dock nearby. It
had a full keel. I presume the cruisers would as well.

I didn't mean that the design was horsespit, only the thinking that full
keel is the only way to go on a cruiser....I would like to see the reasons
for full keel vs modern underbody....other than 'we've been making em like
this for years and changing the tooling would make these boats start at a
million bucks or more'... :)

Gents, I merely said I believed that design as a coastal rather than
bluewater cruiser might explain the lack of extra grabrails on the
Catalina(s) in question, not that Catalinas' in general were unfit for
bluewater cruising. However, while full keel for a bluewater boat may
be considered overkill (or old school) these days, I doubt such design
is horsespit. There are other reasons that recommend a full keel for
extended voyaging, with many such boats in current production.
