[C320-list] Looking for crew to cruise to the Regatta

Anyone who is arriving early from out of town (and not bringing a boat)
might be interested in this:

I learned this morning that Jill has to work on Aug 1 and so I will be
looking for someone to help me bring Surprise down from Severna Park to
Annapolis. My teenaged youngest son is iffy for this, the older kids will
be away, and Carmen -- our yellow lab -- still can't tell port from
starboard or trim the main. So some company and help would be nice, and
who better to ask than a fellow 320 sailor.

It's about a 20 mile trip (3-5 hours depending on conditions) and you
would get to see the Magothy River, Gibson Island, Baltimore Light, Sandy
Point Light and go under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge (U.S. 50) -- a double
suspension bridge. You likely would see some commercial shipping traffic
along the way. We may or may not be too late to see Ospreys in the many
nests on the Magothy. Chicks are in their nests now, but may have left by
then. There is some chance of meeting other Annapolis-bound 320's on the
way.

Severna Park is about 1/2 way between BWI airport and the DoubleTree
hotel. I'd be happy to pick up people at one or the other, but not both.
Obviously I'll want to be leaving the dock fairly early, and no later than
mid-morning. The earlier we leave the more time for sight-seeing along
the way.

I can take at least 4 people. Families welcome. No smokers please.
Contact me offline at "sthompson at toad dot net" if you are interested.

I may try to organize a similar return arrangement on Sunday as an
extension of the Sunday cruise. Jill and I have to have the boat back in
Severna Park fairly early on Sunday, and again could take someone to the
airport since we have to go ourselves to pick up the other son, returning
from out of town. Whether this works for someone will obviously depend on
travel arrangements.
